Donde el Guatón

A local institution on the upper floor of Mercado La Recova, run by the same family for decades. Plain wooden tables, big portions, and Chilean classics: paila marina (mixed shellfish stew), corvina al pil-pil, ceviche, and a long list of fried fish.

Lively at lunch, mostly closed by 5pm. Cash is easier than card. Ask the waiter what came in that morning — that is what you should order.
