Tropera is one of southern Chile's best-known craft brewers. The brewery and tasting room is a few kilometres east of Puerto Varas in the village of Llanquihue, a fifteen-minute drive along the lakeshore. The taproom serves the full range — IPA, golden, stout, sour, and seasonal experiments — alongside burgers, ribs, and fries.
It is worth the drive: the building is a converted dairy, the deck looks across the lake to Osorno, and the beer is consistently good. Open from afternoon till late, closed Mondays.
