This unusual house-museum was created by local artists who transformed an ordinary family home into a large-scale piece of environmental art, using primarily recycled and found materials. Every surface of the house — walls, ceilings, floors, courtyard — has been incorporated into the artwork. The result is a vivid, slightly chaotic, entirely genuine expression of Loja's creative community.
It is not a polished museum experience, which is part of its appeal. You are welcome to wander, and the artists who work there are usually happy to explain what you are looking at. The combination of recycled materials, bold colours, and the intimate domestic scale makes it unlike anything else in the city.
