Puerto López Fish Market

The morning fish market on the beach near the pier is Puerto López at its most alive. Boats come in early, buyers move fast, and the catch can include tuna, wahoo, swordfish, sharks, shrimp, and whatever else the night has given up. Pelicans and frigatebirds patrol overhead waiting for scraps.

Come at dawn or soon after, before the best fish disappears into trucks and restaurant kitchens. It is messy, loud, and not staged for visitors, which makes it a better introduction to the town than any signboard on the malecón.
