Parque Central

Tena's main plaza where the town's two rivers meet

Tena's central park sits at the confluence of the Tena and Pano rivers, which is the whole reason the town exists. The park itself is a modest affair — benches, a cathedral, a monument to indigenous culture — but the location is lovely. The footbridge across the river connects the two halves of town and makes for a pleasant evening stroll.

The plaza is where tour operators find their customers, where teenagers hang out after school, and where you will likely eat your first meal in town. The restaurants facing the park serve decent set lunches (almuerzos) for a couple of dollars.
