Colin Edwards's lodge has been at Annai since 1992, sitting between the Makushi villages of Annai and Rupertee at the point where the Pakaraima foothills come down to the savannah. Birding, boat trips on the Rupununi, nature trails and village visits, and a common staging post for the Iwokrama canopy walkway to the north.
One detail says a lot about where you are: the contact page asks for 24 to 48 hours to reply, because the satellite link, the landline and the mobile signal are all occasionally down — and offers VHF radio, or a message carried on the daily flight, as alternatives.
No WhatsApp, for the same reason.
