Based at the Watooka Guest House on the Demerara at Linden, open daily 10:30 to 4:30, and refreshingly cheap: GYD 500 for twenty-five minutes of kayaking on the Watooka riverfront on Sundays, GYD 1,000 for an hour, GYD 2,000 for a group of eight or more.
The main outing is a two- to three-hour paddle on Blue Lake and Kara Kara Creek at GYD 4,500 — the lake is a flooded bauxite pit, and the colour is genuinely startling. A full Linden day tour with hiking, kayaking, pool access, lunch and transport is GYD 9,500.
