Concepción is about 350 km north of Asunción by road, a journey of 5–6 hours by bus. Buses depart from the Terminal de Ómnibus in Asunción several times daily. The road is paved and in reasonable condition.
There is also a regular boat service from Asunción, but this takes considerably longer (1–3 days, depending on the vessel and stops) and is primarily of interest as a journey in itself. Concepción also has a small airport with occasional charter flights.
