Saywite

Inca ritual site known for a carved stone model of water channels and shrines.

Saywite is an Inca archaeological site east of Abancay, best known for a large carved monolith covered with miniature channels, terraces, animals, and ritual forms. It is often read as a symbolic landscape or water-control model, though nobody can explain it with complete confidence.

The site is not large, but the stone is memorable and the road out gives wide views of the Abancay and Apurimac valleys. It works well as a half-day trip by taxi or colectivo if you are continuing toward Cusco.
