The main visitor circuit inside Chan Chan. Tschudi is one of the nine royal ciudadelas — walled palace compounds built by successive Chimú kings. A restored walking trail leads through high adobe corridors decorated with geometric friezes of pelicans, fish, and waves. It gives a real sense of the scale of the city, even in its eroded state.
The entrance to the Chan Chan complex is here, reached by a dirt road about 1.5 km from the highway.
