Run by Gerrit and Mirjam since 2008, and the Bigi Pan specialist on this list — Gerrit is an indigenous guide who has worked the lagoon long enough to know where the birds will be on a given tide.
Trips are two days with a night in one of the stilt lodges out on the water, with boat outings at dawn and again in the late afternoon, when the scarlet ibis come in to roost and turn a whole stand of mangrove red. Over 120 species have been recorded here; caiman and capybara are routine.
Tours are put together to order rather than sold off a shelf, so tell them what you actually want to see.
