Planted in 2010 on the flank of the Cerro de las Ánimas — at 501 metres the highest point in Uruguay — this is a young olive farm that opens for tastings and walks through the groves. Uruguay's olive-oil industry is barely older than the farm itself, and the oils have started winning things internationally.
The visit covers the grove, the mill and a tasting, and the setting is the reason to make the trip: the Sierra de las Ánimas is the most convincing hill country in a country that does not really do hills.
