Piriápolis has the oddest activity list on the Uruguayan coast: an amethyst mine you can go down, an olive farm on the flank of the country's highest hill, and Uruguay's first bungee jump. All three are within twenty minutes of the seafront, and all three are registered with the Ministry of Tourism.
