Adicora is a small colonial village on the eastern shore of the Paraguaná Peninsula, about an hour north of Coro, that has become one of the best kitesurfing and windsurfing destinations in the Caribbean. The trade winds here are among the most consistent in the region — averaging 25–35 knots for much of the year — and the shallow, warm water of the bay is well-suited to beginners and experienced riders alike. Several surf schools and equipment rental shops operate in the village.
Outside the water sports scene, Adicora retains much of its original character as a small fishing village. The church and main square date from the colonial period, and the waterfront is lined with simple restaurants serving fresh fish. The village is quiet outside peak season (December–March) and makes a good base for exploring the arid Paraguaná Peninsula, which has its own distinctive landscape of cactus-covered hills and salt flats.
