Salto Yuruaní

Salto Yuruaní is a wide, low cascade where the Yuruaní River spreads across a flat sandstone ledge and tips over in a horseshoe shape. It is one of the easy roadside stops on the Troncal 10 between San Francisco de Yuruaní and Santa Elena, and the pool below is one of the few Gran Sabana falls where swimming is safe and obvious.

Pemón vendors sometimes set up at the parking area selling handicrafts. The falls are not tall — perhaps 5–7 metres — but the breadth and the colour of the surrounding rock make them a fine stop on a longer drive through the plateau.
