Djemila is an archaeological site first and foremost — a UNESCO-listed Roman town frozen in remarkable preservation. The key monuments are the Arch of Caracalla, the Old Forum, the Christian Basilica, and the Djemila Museum with its extraordinary floor mosaics. Plan at least a half day to walk the site properly; the combination of the ruins and the mountain landscape is genuinely stunning.
