The seat of the Archdiocese of Malanje is a modest cathedral whose Portuguese-colonial bones still show through layers of postcolonial repairs and war damage. The interior is plain — whitewashed walls, simple pews — but the building anchors the centre of town and the bell calls people in from across the surrounding quarters.
Drop in if you are walking through the centre. Mass is well attended; outside service hours the side door is usually open and the caretakers welcome quiet visitors.
