Most travellers reach Foumban from Bafoussam, about 70 kilometres west, where shared taxis and minibuses run the route in roughly two hours on a winding but paved road. From Yaoundé or Douala, take a coach as far as Bafoussam (around six hours from either city) and change there.
The road from Bafoussam to Foumban is scenic — coffee plantations, fields of maize and beans, and the green volcanic hills of the Bamileke and Bamoun country. There is no airport in Foumban itself; the nearest is Bafoussam-Bamougoum, with limited domestic flights.
