Tchimpounga Animal Sanctuary is a Jane Goodall Institute sanctuary for rescued chimpanzees affected by the illegal bushmeat trade. Visits need planning, but it is one of the region's strongest wildlife-related stops for travellers based around Pointe-Noire.
