The Pyramid of Ahmose is badly ruined, but it has a curious place in Egyptian history. Built for Ahmose I, founder of the 18th Dynasty, it is often treated as the last royal pyramid complex raised in Egypt.
Do not expect a crisp pyramid silhouette. The interest is historical and atmospheric: a scatter of remains on the edge of the Abydos landscape, showing how older royal forms lingered even as New Kingdom kings shifted their burial focus toward Thebes.
