The Temple of Ramses II stands beside the larger Temple of Seti I at Abydos. It is smaller and more fragmentary, but the surviving lower walls still show fine carved decoration, including scenes connected to the Battle of Kadesh.
Many of the best-preserved pieces from the temple are now in museums, so visit it as a close companion to Seti I's temple rather than as a standalone reason to come to Abydos.
