Maadi has the most internationally varied restaurant scene in Cairo outside of Zamalek and downtown. The main strip along Road 9 is the centre of dining and cafe life, with everything from Italian and French to Indian, Mexican, and Japanese within a short walk. The neighbourhood's large expatriate community means you can find a proper Sunday brunch, a decent burger, or a good bottle of wine here when they would be difficult to locate elsewhere in the city. Egyptian cuisine is also well represented, with several good fuul and ta'ameya breakfast spots operating from early morning.
