Awash National Park lies east of Addis Ababa on the main road toward Dire Dawa and Djibouti. The drive from Addis usually takes most of a day once stops, road conditions, and park arrangements are included.
Public buses can get you to Awash town or Metehara, but they do not solve the park problem. To see the falls, plains, hot springs, and Fentale area properly, arrange a private vehicle and guide from Addis Ababa, Adama, or Awash.
