West of town, on the road toward Butajira, a rocky escarpment gives one of the best land views over Ziway. On a clear day you can see the lake, the town, and the broader Rift Valley setting that makes this stretch of Ethiopia so distinctive.
It is a simple stop rather than a developed attraction, so go with your own transport and do not expect facilities. The viewpoint is most useful if you are driving the back route toward Addis Ababa or want a quick sense of the landscape before heading to the lake.
