Soumba Waterfalls are one of the easier nature escapes from Conakry, reached by road toward Dubréka and the hills north of the capital. The falls are not wilderness in the pure sense: there are food stalls, simple facilities, and plenty of local weekend traffic when the weather is right.
Go for the cool water, the sound of the cascade, and the chance to get out of the city for a few hours. The trip can take much longer than the map suggests, especially in traffic or rain, so leave early and treat it as a relaxed day out rather than a quick stop.
