Labe town is compact and navigable on foot. Motorcycle taxis (jakartas) are the standard way to reach places beyond the centre and to get out into the surrounding countryside. Prices are negotiable; agree on the fare before setting off. For longer day trips to waterfalls or highland viewpoints, hiring a motorcycle taxi for the day is the most practical option for travellers without their own vehicle.
Shared taxis run to nearby towns including Pita and Mali. For vehicles capable of reaching more remote highland trails, enquire at your guesthouse — some can arrange 4WD hire with or without a driver.
