Labe is about 400 km north of Conakry on Guinea's main highland road, which is paved and in reasonable condition as far as the city. From Conakry, bush taxis (sept-places or minibuses) depart from the Bambeto gare routiere; the journey takes around 6 to 8 hours depending on road conditions and stops, with the mountain section beyond Mamou being both scenic and slow.
From Guinea-Bissau, Labe is the main entry point into the Guinean highlands: bush taxis from Gabu or Bafata cross the border at Pirada or Buruntuma and continue to Labe. The border crossings are manageable but require patience; crossing early in the morning avoids the worst waits. There is no scheduled air service to Labe.
