Kapcherop Forest is a damp highland forest east of Kitale, where the air is cooler and the vegetation much denser than on the surrounding farms. It is mainly a hiking and picnic destination, with forest tracks, birdlife, and views that open suddenly where the trees thin.
This is not a place to wander into casually. Ask locally about current access, go with a guide, and check conditions if it has been raining; the same climate that keeps the forest green can make paths muddy and slow.
