Jalay's Town is the main ranger station and visitor base for Sapo National Park, on the northern edge of the protected area. From here, FDA rangers and SCNL-trained guides lead trekking expeditions into the forest, typically of two to five days, sleeping at basic forest camps with hammocks and tarps.
Facilities at Jalay's Town itself are minimal — a few staff buildings, a basic guesthouse where visitors can stay before and after treks, and a small office where permits are checked. There is no shop, no electricity beyond solar for the office, and no mobile coverage to speak of. Plan to be entirely self-contained, and bring everything you need for the trek.
