The Germa necropolis covers burial areas associated with the ancient settlement. It is one of the key archaeological zones for understanding the Garamantes, whose tombs have produced evidence of social status, trade connections and changing customs.
Visit only with a knowledgeable guide. Cemetery landscapes can be hard to read and easy to damage, and many features are not obvious unless someone can point them out.
