Winter and the cooler edges of spring and autumn are the only sensible seasons for Germa. Summer heat in the Fezzan is severe, and ruins or exposed desert tracks offer little shade.
Even in winter, nights can be cold. Bring layers, water and sun protection, and allow extra time for checkpoint or permit delays.
