Getting There

Ghat is one of Libya's most remote towns. The airport lies north of town, but scheduled services have been unreliable in recent years. Most overland journeys are arranged through licensed Libyan operators from Sebha, Ghadhames, or Tripoli, with permits and escorts handled in advance.

Distances are large and services are thin. Fuel, water, spare tyres, and satellite communication are not luxuries on desert routes around Ghat; they are part of the basic plan.
