The reserve's only accommodation is a small camp on the southern edge of Lake Kazuni, run by the Vwaza Marsh Wildlife Trust. A handful of simple reed-and-thatch chalets and a campsite share the same lake frontage; the chalets are basic but comfortable, with mosquito nets and bucket-shower water heated on the fire.
The bar and dining area on stilts over the lake is the social heart of the place — sundowners here, with hippos surfacing in front of you and elephants in the woodland behind, are the central memory most visitors take away from Vwaza. Book through the trust well in advance in dry season; the camp is small and fills up.
