Game viewing at Vwaza is mostly on foot or by short vehicle drive from Kazuni Camp at the entrance gate. Walking safaris with armed scouts are inexpensive and far better than driving — the reserve is small enough that you can cover real distances, and the wildlife (especially elephants and buffalo) is more cautious of vehicles than of walkers in single file. Bird watching at the marshes themselves is exceptional, and the hides on Lake Kazuni let you watch hippos and elephants at very close quarters.
