Djiguibombo is most easily reached from Bandiagara, about 14 km to the north. The standard approach is to hire a mobylette (moped) or negotiate a lift with a local driver — both options are usually available in Bandiagara near the main market. The track is unpaved and rough in places, but passable in dry conditions. Expect the journey to take around thirty to forty minutes by moped.
Some trekkers walk the whole way from Bandiagara, which takes three to four hours at a steady pace. If you are walking, start as early as possible — by nine in the morning the sun is already fierce, and the midday heat on the open plateau is draining. Carry at least two litres of water per person; there is little reliable water between Bandiagara and the escarpment villages.
There is no public transport directly to Djiguibombo. Occasional market vehicles travel between Bandiagara and the outlying villages on market days, but schedules are unpredictable. Most visitors arrange their transport in advance through the guesthouses or guide agencies in Bandiagara.
