Tizi-n-Tinifift Pass

Scenic mountain pass on the road to Nkob

The Tizi-n-Tinifift, at 1,660 metres, is the high pass that the N9 climbs as it cuts from Ouarzazate into the upper Drâa Valley. The road snakes through bare crumpled rock with extraordinary views back over the Anti-Atlas and forward into the Drâa palmery — most travellers stop briefly at the small layby near the summit, where a stall sells fossils and minerals to passing cars. Worth pausing for the photograph, even if you are pressing on to Nkob.
