The medina, Place du 16 Août, and the main hotels along Boulevard Mohamed V are within walking distance of one another. For Lalla Aïcha park, the railway station, or excursions to Sidi Yahya, petit taxis (red in Oujda) are cheap and metered. Negotiate a fixed rate for excursions out of town.
Buses to Saidia and Berkane on the Mediterranean coast and to Nador depart from the gare routière a short ride north of the centre. Grand taxis serve longer destinations from the same area.
