Café el Bahr

A basic but decent cafe near the waterfront, Café el Bahr draws a mixed crowd of fishermen, port workers, and the occasional traveller. The mint tea is good, the coffee is strong, and the location — close to the sea fortress with a view of the port — makes it one of the better spots in Safi for sitting and watching the city go about its business.

The cafe serves msemen (flaky Moroccan flatbread) and beghrir (semolina pancakes) in the mornings. No alcohol is served, as is standard in medina cafes.
