The mangrove channels surrounding Ibo are beautiful and surprisingly rich in birdlife — kingfishers, herons, and African fish eagles are common. Both lodges arrange kayak trips into the channels, ranging from a couple of hours to a full day. Traditional dhow sailing can also be arranged — a more leisurely way to reach neighbouring islands or simply drift with the tide. The tidal range here is large, so trips are planned around the water levels; your lodge will advise.
