Ayorou's riverfront is not grand, but it is the town's real centre. Pirogues nose into the bank, passengers step ashore with bundles and market goods, and the islands offshore feel close enough to touch. Late afternoon is the best time to linger, when the glare softens and the river traffic becomes easier to watch.
This is also the place to arrange a short boat trip if you have not done so already. Bring water, sun protection, and enough cash in small notes; there are few formal tourist services here.
