Gisenyi's restaurant scene is small but pleasant. Most of the better options are attached to lakeside guesthouses and hotels, which typically serve Rwandan and Western food — grilled tilapia from the lake, brochettes, and the ubiquitous rice and beans. The town market near the main road has inexpensive local food stalls. The lakeside bar-restaurant at Inzu Lodge is the nicest setting for a meal, with tables directly above the water.
