Kambama Landing

Riverside village landing used for the boat crossing to Tiwai Island.

Kambama is one of the practical access points for Tiwai, a riverside village where road travel gives way to the boat crossing. It is not a formal attraction, but it is part of the journey: the place where the dust, heat, and road hours suddenly turn into river and forest.

Arrive with your transfer already arranged. Boats and guides are not something to improvise late in the day, and the surrounding communities are part of the island's conservation model, so use the official channels where possible.
