Hawane Nature Reserve protects a wetland and dam landscape north of Mbabane, in the cool highveld rather than the hotter lowlands most visitors associate with Eswatini. It was established to protect marsh habitat along the Mbuluzi River and is especially good for birdlife.
The reserve works best as a gentle nature outing: walking, bird-watching, and views over grassy hills rather than big-game drama. It is close enough to Mbabane to combine with Sibebe Rock or one of the craft stops in the Ezulwini-Mbabane corridor.
