Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), 46km east between Arusha and Moshi, handles international arrivals with direct flights from Amsterdam, Dubai, Addis Ababa, and Nairobi. Arusha Airport (ARK), closer to town, handles domestic flights to Zanzibar, Dar es Salaam, and the Serengeti airstrips.
From Nairobi, the crossing at Namanga is about 270km; luxury bus services run the route in around 6 hours. From Dar es Salaam, the overnight bus takes 10-12 hours.
