The Zaouia of Sidi Abid el-Ghariani is a richly decorated religious complex that served as both mausoleum and Koranic school. Its carved cedar ceilings, tilework, and quiet courtyards offer a more intimate look at Kairouan's religious architecture than the city's great mosque.
