Artisans Angkor

Artisans Angkor is a social enterprise that trains and employs young people from rural families in traditional Cambodian crafts: silk weaving, stone carving, lacquerware, silversmithing, and wood carving. The main workshop and shop is in Siem Reap town (near the Les Chantiers Écoles vocational school that founded it), with a second outlet at Angkor Wat itself. Visitors can walk through the open workshop areas during working hours and watch carvers and weavers at their craft — an unusually transparent production experience.

The shop sells finished products at fixed prices that are higher than the Old Market but reflect genuine quality and the cost of training and employing skilled workers under fair conditions. Silk scarves, carved wooden boxes, stone replicas of Angkor-period sculptures, and lacquerware items are among the best buys. This is not the place for cheap souvenirs — it is the place to buy something that will actually last and means something.
