Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) is 25 km northeast of the city, handling most international and domestic flights. The Airport Express rail link takes 20 minutes to Dongzhimen station in the city centre (30 RMB). Taxis take 40–60 minutes depending on traffic and cost around 100–130 RMB; agree on the meter before setting off. Beijing Daxing International Airport (PKX), opened in 2019, is 46 km south of the city and handles a growing share of domestic traffic; the Express Line to Caoqiao runs in 20 minutes.
Beijing is the hub of China's high-speed rail network. The Beijing–Shanghai HSR reaches Shanghai in 4.5 hours; Guangzhou in 8 hours; Xi'an in 4.5 hours. Beijing South station (Beijingnan) is the main terminus for high-speed services to the south and east. Beijing station handles conventional trains to the north and northeast.
