Fu Forest Trail, or Fudao, is one of Fuzhou's best modern public spaces: an elevated steel walkway threading through forested hills on the west side of the city. Instead of cutting a conventional path into the slopes, the walkway lifts you into the trees, with mesh decking, curved ramps, and viewing platforms.
It is popular with locals for evening walks, but it also gives visitors a quick understanding of why Fuzhou is proud of its banyans, hills, and green urban character. Go when the heat drops, and allow enough time to walk a proper section rather than just photographing the entrance.
