Fuzhou's most distinctive sights are its preserved historical district, its hill temples, and its museums. Three Lanes and Seven Alleys is the obvious starting point — spend a morning there, then take a bus or taxi to Gushan in the afternoon. The Fujian Museum is compact and well curated. Allow at least two full days to cover the city comfortably.
