Chaoshan Railway Station, shared with Chaozhou, is the main high-speed rail gateway, with frequent trains from Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Xiamen, and Fuzhou. Local buses, taxis, and ride-hailing cars connect the station with central Shantou.
Jieyang Chaoshan International Airport is inland and serves Shantou, Chaozhou, and Jieyang. From Chaozhou, buses to Shantou run frequently and take about an hour.
